Taylor Watson threw a shutout to lead Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers Varsity softball past Cheraw High School Varsity 11-0 on Tuesday. In the first inning, Legion got their offense started when Joei Owens drew a walk, scoring one run. LCA scored five runs in the fourth inning. Lexi Wilkinson, Riley Burton, Morgan Langley, Gabi Wilson, and Watson each picked up RBI’s in the frame. The lone bright sport was a single by #4 in the fourth inning. Watson led the lancers from the circle picking up the win, she allowed one hit and zero runs over 5 innings striking out eight and no walks. #15 toed the rubber for Cheraw. The hurler surrendered 11 runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out 4.

The Legion Lancers totaled eight hits on the day. Burton and Kailey Canupp all had multiple hits for Legion. The girls tore up the base paths with two player stealing at least two bases. Aleah Roy led the way with three. Defensively LCA was stout, earning no errors for the game with Trinity Gibson leading the way with 8 chances in the field.
