Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · Softball starts spring break off with a bang!


On Thursday 4/1 The Varsity and JV softball teams took on Buford HS. The varisty picked up a convincing win 11-4. Morgan Langley swung the big bat for the Lancers going 5-5 with two singles and 3 doubles. Taylor Watson picked up the win for Legion pitching 7 inning allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. Watson also struck out 1 and walked 1 batter. Gabi Wilson sent one over the fence in the 5th to increase the LCA lead. Langley, Wislon, Lexi Wilkinson, Aleah Roy, Kailey Canupp, and Rayna Blackwell all collected multiple hits on the day. The JV beat Buford 9-2 with Peyton Murray picking up the win. Murray allowed 4 hits over 5innings and struck out 1. Williams, Sutton, Bachelder, Griffin, and Joseph each had multiple hits for the Lancers.

On Friday 4/2 they visited Chesterfield high school where the varsity submitted a shutout performance winning 12-0 while the JV won convincingly 15-1. In the JV game Gracelyn Teer led the way offensively with 5 RBI’s on 2 hits for the night including a home run in the 3rd inning. Peyton Murray got the win for the Lancers throwing 4 innings allowing only 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 7 batters. Kaya Bachelder, Jesse Sutton, and Teer all had multiple hits on the night with Sutton going 3-4 leading the team in base hits.

 

On Saturday 4/3 the JV Lancers won the Soda City Classic Championship in Blythwood, SC. The girls averaged 13 runs per game and went 4-0 on the day. The JV is now 11-1 on the year.
